Maseno University Laboratory for Inter disciplinary Statistics Activities (MU-LISA), has been admitted as a full member of LISA2020 Network, following a unanimous vote by the LISA2020 Executive Team.

LISA2020 (www.LISA2020.org) is a program coordinated by the Department of Applied Mathematics, University of Colorado Boulder, USA. The aim of the program is to build Statistics and Data Science capacity and research infrastructure in developing countries to help statisticians collaborate with scientists, government officials, business and NGOs to use data to solve problems and make decisions for real world impact.

MU-LISA is hosted at the Department of Applied Statistics and Actuarial Science, School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science, Maseno University. Their mission is to use statistical tools and methods to conduct sound analysis for multi-disciplinary research projects.

The team members are Dr. Edgar Otumba (Lab Coordinator), Dr. Joyce Otieno, Dr. James Musyoka, Prof. Paul Oleche, Mr. Thomas Mawora, Mr.DonnieMunyao and Mr. Derrick Olal.

The ongoing project in the Lab is the TEACH (Transforming Evidence to Action Capacity in Higher Education) fund award which will be used to build capacity for staff at the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) to enable them establish a regional data repository.
