Education Cabinet Secretary H. E Prof. George Magoha visits  Maseno University. University Officials lead by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Julius Nyabundi (left) 

On 26th February 2021, Education Cabinet Secretary H.E. Prof. George Magoha paid a courtesy call on Prof. Julius Nyabundi the Vice-Chancellor Maseno University and exchanged views on friendship, academic exchanges and educational cooperation between his ministry and the University.

Present at the meeting were Prof. Catherine Muhoma Deputy Vice-Chancellor (AFD) Prof.Joseph Chacha, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (PRI), Mr. Omondi (acting finance officer), Ms. Joy Akinyi (Legal Officer) and the Director Public Relations Dr. Owen MConyango.

During his visit, Prof. Magoha took a tour around the University to asses ongoing projects championed by the Vice-Chancellor. He acknowledged the commitment the Vice-Chancellor has put in ensuring the University is at par with world Universities in terms of not only infrastructure developments but also academics.

The University has put up a state-of-the-art tuition block that houses three amphitheaters, laboratories and lecture halls. In his remarks, the CS, also thanked Maseno University Management for supporting the Vice-Chancellor in ensuring smooth management of the University.

Prof. Magoha then dined with University officials who were present where they shared a lot on continued support of his ministry to the University as they discussed on areas that needed support.

Th Cabinet Secretary also noted that he is happy with the University student leadership as student unrest cases are rarely reported from Maseno University. He pointed out that students at Maseno University are so disciplined and he’s very happy about it.

In his conclusion remarks, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the CS for his continued strong relationship with Maseno University and he affirmed to not relent on his cooperation with the ministry of Education in all aspects.
