Post Graduate Courses 2023, School of Medicine

Maseno University is accredited both by the Commission for University Education and the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council to offer the following postgraduate courses:

 

  1. Master of Medicine in Family and Emergency Medicine (A four-year full time residential programme).
  1. Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (A four-year full time residential programme).
  1. Master of Medicine in General Surgery (A five-year full time residential programme).
  1. Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine (A four-year full time residential programme)
  1. Master of Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health (A four-year full time residential programme)

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree or its equivalent from a recognised university.
  • Must have completed at least one year of clinical practice post internship.
  • Show evidence of registration, or eligibility to be licensed, by the Kenya Medical Practitioner’s and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Provide a certificate of good conduct from the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council or any equivalent authority from the country of origin if from outside Kenya.
  • Show evidence of proficiency in use of English language.
  • Maintain a valid professional indemnity cover of not less than KES 1,000,000/= over the period of clinical training.

  1. Master of Science in Medical Physiology (A two-year full time residential programme)
  1. Master of Science in Human Anatomy (A two-year full time residential programme)

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be a holder of a first degree of Maseno University or any other recognized institutions, in the following field:

  • MBChB
  • BSc Nursing
  • Dental Surgery (BDS)
  • B. Pharmacy
  •  Veterinary Medicine
  • BSc Medical Laboratory Science
  • BSc Environmental Health
  • BSc Clinical Medicine
  • Zoology
  • Biomedical Sciences or any other related degrees

Each applicant shall undertake both written and oral interviews at the School of Medicine to confirm their suitability for admission into the programme.
