Maseno University and the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies of Princeton University (“PIIRS”) engage for the PIIRS Global seminar “Kenya: Evolution of the Capital of Western Capitalism in Eastern and Central Africa”
The seminar commenced on May 30th and is supposed to run through July 8th, 2022 under directorship of Mahiri Mwita, a lecturer in the Princeton Institute of International and Regional Studies at Princeton University.
The seminar has brought together 25 Princeton University students with 5 Maseno University students also joining them as student auditors in the daily classes and excursions for the course “Kenya: Evolution of the Capital of Western Capitalism in Eastern and Central Africa”
On her welcoming remarks, Maseno University’s director of Linkages and Outreach Prof. Rose Ongati noted, “It is an honor for Maseno University to host this conference to promote global dialogue on higher education, a dialogue to which all voices are invited and from which ideas and commitments will emerge that will mark the university life of the next generations of students.”
In his welcoming remarks, Maseno University’s director of Public relations Dr. Owen MCOnyango said, “Maseno University is a center for education and knowledge, where students represent a central element of social, cultural and economic progress. That is why we are proud to host this conference to be able to contribute to the promotion of the debate on the future of universities at a global level.” 
This conference will give voice to all actors in academic life, including professors, researchers and social leaders. The conference will also include a variety of side events, informal meetings, and exhibitions (art and culture) to expand learning and exchange opportunities for all participants.
