CBET stakeholder engagement and capacity building workshop

School of Education held a stakeholder engagement/capacity building workshop on the 27th March, 2024 at the southern wing Amphitheatre to aligning its Teacher Education Programmes (TEPs) to the Basic Education Curriculum Framework (BECF). 

The key stakeholders were drawn from far and wide including but not limited to, Kenya Institute of curriculum Development, Teachers Service commission, External Examiners, the Faculty both from the School of Education and from servicing departments/schools, The Alumni, the Heads of Secondary Schools, the current students among others.

The workshop was officially opened by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Julius Nyabundi and the Keynote address was given by Prof. Charles Ong’ondo, the Director Kenya Institute of curriculum Development who emphasized the importance of aligning curricula with evolving educational trends.
The workshop provided a platform for bringing together educators, policymakers, and industry experts. Participants engaged in discussions and workshops on curriculum review strategies, fostering an exchange of best practices.
Dr. Reuben N. Mugukwu, the TSC Director for Teacher Professional Management also addressed the students on “Teacher professional standards”.
The School of Education offers seven undergraduate programmes that are infused with the 21st century skills
