Daystar University Benchmarks Maseno University for Enhanced Institutional Performance

Maseno University hosted a Daystar University delegation on September 2–3, 2026, for a benchmarking exercise aimed at strengthening institutional performance, efficiency and service delivery.
The delegation paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance and Development), Prof. David Ogoti Ongarora, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Boardroom, where the team outlined the purpose of the visit and the key areas they intended to benchmark.
Prof. Ongarora welcomed the delegation and facilitated their engagement with the relevant Heads of Departments, who guided the visitors through various University departments. The benchmarking exercise focused mainly on Procurement, Finance and Estates, providing the Daystar team with an opportunity to learn about Maseno University’s systems, processes and operational practices.
 

The visit also facilitated knowledge sharing between staff from the two institutions, with discussions centered on efficiency, accountability and continuous institutional improvement.
Speaking during the engagement, Paul Muthama of Daystar University described the knowledge gained from Maseno as impactful, noting that the practical insights would contribute to efforts to enhance performance at Daystar University.
The delegation observed that the systems and operations visited were functioning effectively, offering valuable lessons for consideration in strengthening their own institutional processes.
The engagement underscores the importance of benchmarking and inter-university collaboration in promoting knowledge exchange, innovation and excellence in higher education.
