Maseno University hosted a team from Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) on 12th June 2025,  for a strategic  engagement aimed at enhancing institutional collaboration, student empowerment, and innovative service delivery. The meeting was held at the Vice Chancellor’s Boardroom and brought together key university officials and KCB stakeholders.

The engagement focused on deepening partnerships in three key areas:

  • Student development
  • Digital banking innovation
  • Institutional advancement.

KCB proposed the development of a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) through its Human Resource department, which will facilitate structured internship placements, particularly for students in pursuing communication related courses.

The KCB team also unveiled plans to relaunch their mobile banking application, featuring student-centered upgrades. The new platform aims to double as a digital financial literacy tool, equipping learners with practical knowledge in personal finance management and digital transactions.
Beyond academics, KCB expressed keen interest in supporting sports talent development at Maseno University across various disciplines including volleyball, soccer, rugby, chess, golf, and motor sports.

Maseno University Vice Chancellor Prof. Julius O. Nyabundi , welcomed the partnership and applauded KCB for its proactive support. He encouraged the bank to explore further collaboration, including infrastructure development and long-term joint projects highlighting the potential for a strategic partnership mutual value to both institutions.
