Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI) Conducts Site Inspection Visit at Maseno University
Maseno University on 24th February 2026 hosted a delegation from the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI) for an official site inspection aimed at assessing compliance with previously issued accreditation recommendations.
The visit follows an earlier engagement held in 2019, during which the institute provided recommendations intended to strengthen academic and professional standards within relevant programmes at the University. The inspection focused on evaluating the progress made since that meeting and confirming the implementation of the proposed improvements.
During the exercise, the KNDI team toured key facilities within the School of Public Health, Community Development and Health (SPHCD) as well as the Department of Nutrition and Health. The delegation reviewed institutional documents and examined departmental records to verify adherence to accreditation requirements and assess the extent to which earlier recommendations had been implemented.
The inspection process proceeded smoothly, with University staff facilitating access to facilities, academic resources and relevant documentation required for the assessment.
Upon completion of the visit, the KNDI delegation indicated that a comprehensive inspection report will be prepared and formally submitted to the University. The report is expected to be presented to the Vice-Chancellor by KNDI Chief Executive Officer Dr. David Okeyo alongside the Head of Accreditation, Prof. Nguka Gordon.
Maseno University reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high academic and professional standards and to continuously improving training programmes in nutrition and health to meet national regulatory requirements and industry expectations.
