Maseno University School of Medicine, in collaboration with the Ethlyn Foundation, successfully hosted a free community medical camp in Marera from September 15–18,2025. The initiative was part of the university’s commitment to community outreach and healthcare support.
The Four day camp provided a wide range of services, including general medical checkups, dental services, and free medication for community members. In addition, a lunch program was organized to ensure that all attendees received a nutritious meal during the event.
The medical camp attracted a large number of residents from Marera and surrounding areas, many of whom benefited from specialized consultations and essential treatment.
Speaking after the event, organizers emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between healthcare providers and underserved communities.

The collaboration between Maseno University School of Medicine and the Ethlyn Foundation reflects the shared vision of promoting accessible healthcare and strengthening community well-being. The university reaffirmed its dedication to using education, research, and outreach as tools for positive social impact.
At the close of the Medical Camp on 18th September, an awesome closing ceremony was held at the Ethlyne Hope Center where all the participating partners celebrated a most successful event.
These were Ethlyne Hope, Maseno University, NACADA, Blue Cross and the St. James ACK Church-Marera.
