Maseno University, School of Medicine in collaboration with Ethlyn Hope Community Based Organisation, had a premedical camp meeting at the Ethlyne Hope Centre.
Maseno University’s School of Medicine, in partnership with the Ethlyn Hope Foundation and Blue Cross Kenya, held a site visit and groundbreaking ceremony at the Ethlyn Hope Centre in Marera. The event marked the beginning of preparations for a four-day medical camp dedicated to providing quality healthcare services to the local community.
The ceremony brought together Dr. Owen McOnyango, Director of Public Relations at Maseno University, senior officials from the School of Medicine, and sixth-year medical students. Their active involvement reflected the University’s strong commitment to community service while also offering students invaluable hands-on learning experiences.
During the event, Madam Ethlyn, founder of the Ethlyn Hope Foundation, introduced a team of international medical professionals who had traveled with her to support the initiative. She guided the team through the medical camp program and warmly welcomed all participants who would be taking up different roles in the upcoming camp.
The collaboration between Maseno University, the Ethlyn Hope Foundation, and Blue Cross Kenya underscores the power of multi-sector partnerships in creating lasting community impact. By combining expertise, resources, and outreach, the initiative aims not only to improve the health and well-being of Marera residents but also to advance the University’s mission of service through education, research, and healthcare delivery.
This Premedical Camp meeting set the stage for a transformative medical camp and reaffirmed Maseno University’s role as a key partner in promoting health and sustainable development across the region.
