Day 3 of the Medical Camp at St. James ACK Marera built on the momentum of the previous days, with even greater energy and community participation. Once again, residents from Marera and neighboring villages streamed in to access medical services, health education, and wellness support.
A defining highlight of Day 3 was the attendance of Professor Regina Nyunja, Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Partnerships, Research, and Innovation (PRI), Maseno University. Her presence brought a strong sense of institutional support and pride, reinforcing Maseno University’s mission of bridging research, innovation, and community health. Prof. Nyunja’s encouragement to both students and the community highlighted the importance of partnerships in delivering long-term healthcare solutions.
The day also saw impactful engagement from the Blue Cross Organisation, whose team facilitated insightful sessions on drug and alcohol abuse. These sessions sparked meaningful discussions among community members, especially the youth, raising awareness about the dangers of substance misuse and promoting healthier lifestyle.

On the medical front, Dr. Norman Demba, Chairman of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at Maseno University, continued mentoring students in laboratory diagnostics and clinical practice. His guidance enriched the students’ training and strengthened the quality of care delivered to patients.
As Director of the Medical Camp, Dr. Omoto once again demonstrated exceptional leadership by coordinating all aspects of service delivery. His organizational oversight ensured that every department worked harmoniously, and that patients were attended to with efficiency and care.
At the heart of the international collaboration was Ms. Ethlyne, General Head of the team of doctors from the United States of America. Her leadership and expertise elevated the standard of healthcare at the camp, while her mentorship to both local professionals and students emphasized the value of cross-cultural medical exchange.

As the sun set on the third day, the camp stood as a beacon of hope, its impact felt not only through the treatment of illnesses but also through the empowerment of individuals, the strengthening of partnerships, and the promise of a healthier future for the community.
