The Principal Secretary, State Department of University Education and Research Ambassador. Simon Nabukwesi pays a Courtesy Call on the Maseno University’s Vice Chancellor.

The Principal Secretary, State Department of University Education and Research Amb. Simon Nabukwesi, has praised Maseno University for its outstanding education aptitude and has called for strengthened collaboration between his Ministry and Maseno University.Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Maseno University Vice-Chancellor, Pro. Julius Nyabundi said his department is elated to collaborate with Maseno University in various fields of study.

Ambassador Nabukwesi said his visit to Maseno was to strengthen the existing cooperation with his ministry as well as to pursue new collaborations in the training fields such as agricultural technology, entrepreneurship, education and social protection. The Ambassador commended Maseno’s long-standing relationship with his ministry and pledged to support any new collaborations Maseno might have with universities in and outside the country.

Ambassador Nabukwesi also stressed the need for continued cooperation as well as the significance of promoting quality education standards through exchange programmes with other Universities.

In his welcome remarks, Maseno University Vice-Chancellor, Prof Julius Nyabundi, thanked Amb. Nabukwesi for being an all-weather friend not only to Maseno University but to other Universities as well. Prof. Nyabundi said Maseno University recognised the role that the Ministryof State Department of University Education had played in supporting the Maseno University’s education system.

Prof. Nyabundiwas glad to share with the PS the fact that out of the signed MoUs, various exchange programmes have been conducted involving students, faculty members.

Prof. Nyabundi also said that one of Maseno’s strategic objectives is to increase both international and national cooperation with various universities as well as foreign student’s enrolment ratios to at least 10 per cent. He said such partnerships were important for the university’s visibility at the international level. He further commended the Ministry of Education for its strength in education background as well as research and appealed for the continued collaboration between the two government institutions.
