View Profile
I am the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Partnerships, Research and Innovations. I bring extensive experience in academic leadership and scientific research. Having previously served at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) as Head of Department of Biological Sciences and later Dean, School of Biological and Physical Sciences.
While at JOOUST, I led a key international climate change project in collaboration with institutions in Belgium including, The University of Gent and Brussels University. The initiative focused on training postgraduate students on climate change issues and creating awareness within communities about the value of nature and the environment. Her leadership in this area has significantly advanced both academic research and community engagement.
An alumnus of Maseno University, I completed my doctoral studies with a dissertation titled “The Diversity of Medicinal Plant in Kakamega Forest: A Taxonomic and Pharmacological Approach.” With this new role, I have a vision to elevate Maseno University as a hub of Research Excellence, citing its’ strategic location near water bodies, and accessible land as key resources for hands-on research.
