Academic freedom and the freedom of scientific research is enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya (Article 33 (1) c). In addition, the strategic report by the National Strategy for University education reform process, the strategic goal for quality and relevance is to improve quality and relevance of learning through research for the sociology-economic transformation of societies.
