Sustainability Research and Innovation (SRI) Africa Satellite Conference, at the Chandaria Auditorium, University of Nairobi

The National Research Fund (NRF), in collaboration with the National Research Foundation of South Africa, the Belmont Forum Organisation, and the Future Earth Organisation, is hosting the Sustainability Research and Innovation (SRI) Africa Satellite Event from today, June 4th to 6th 2025, at the Chandaria Auditorium, University of Nairobi. This continental event is a precursor to the global SR Congress, which will be held from June 16 to 19, 2025, at the University of Illinois System, Chicago, USA. This year's SRI conference is themed: Pathways to Sustainable Solutions

Sustainability, research, and innovation are key drivers of socioeconomic development and environmental resilience. Addressing national and global challenges requires a transdisciplinary approach that integrates scientific research, technological advancements, policy innovation and placing communities at the center of research activities. To foster knowledge exchange and collaboration, the SRI Africa Satellite Event serves as a platform for dialogue among policymakers, researchers, innovators, industry leaders and research funding agencies.
Recognizing the Importance of sustainable solutions tailored to Africa's unique context, this event will explore discussions in cutting-edge research, emerging technologies and innovative tools that drive impactful change, collaborative decision-making through fostering connections with communities, and African science and innovation for transformation, among others. Additionally, it will provide an opportunity to strengthen partnerships that enhance Kenya and Africa's role in the global sustainability agenda.
