The Vice Chancellor Welcome Address to First Year Students With a Message of Excellence, Unity and Opportunity
Maseno University officially welcomes its first year students with powerful address from the Vice-Chancellor during the orientation Ceremony introduced by Deputy, Vice-Chancellor, Academics and Student Affairs Prof. Erick Nyambedha. Prof. Erick Nyambedha praised the Vice-Chancellor for his transformative leadership of overseeing the growth of Maseno University; School of Medicine now ranked the best in Kenya. He Congrangratulated the new students for outstanding academic performance, noting they were among the top 20% who qualified for University admission Nationwide.
The Vice-Chancellor assured students that they had joined a University committed to Academic Excellence, Mentorship and Holistic Development. He introduced University Staff and Departmental Heads, emphasizing their role in Teaching, Training and Mentoring students throughout their academic journey. He encouraged the new students to make full use of the University resources and support systems to grow intellectually and personally.
A key part of his address focused on diversity and inclusion. He celebrated the University’s mult-cultural environment, highlighting that students come from all parts of Kenya. He called on the students body to respect all ethnic groups and to treat one another with equality and dignity emphasizing that Maseno is a space where unity in diversity is core value.
He thanked the students for choosing Maseno University and reaffirmed the institution commitment to shaping future leaders through quality education, character building and strong sense of National Unity
