Week-Long Blood Donation Drive Successfully Concludes in Maseno, Kisumu West Sub-County
The Regional Blood Bank Kisumu, under the leadership of Mr. Haron Miruka, successfully conducted a week-long blood donation drive themed “One Pint of Blood Saves Three Lives.”
The campaign kicked off at Maseno School on September 13, 2025, where 104 pints of blood were collected. The drive then moved to Maseno University on September 15 and 16, 2025, before proceeding to Chulaimbo Boys High School on September 17, 2025, where students enthusiastically participated, donating 103 pints of blood. The exercise officially concluded on September 18, 2025.
Notably, the blood drive ran concurrently with a medical camp organized in partnership with Ethlyn Hope Community Organisation, Maseno University School of Medicine, Kenya Red Cross Society, Blue Cross Organisation, and National Agency for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA). This collaboration underscored Maseno University’s strong commitment to advancing healthcare, community well-being, and public service.
Speaking on behalf of the Director of the Regional Blood Bank Kisumu, Ms. Magdaline Morogo, team leader Mr. Haron Miruka expressed deep appreciation to Maseno University for its unwavering support and media coverage, the Kenya Red Cross Society for its vital role in mobilization, and both Maseno School and Chulaimbo Boys High School for sparing valuable time to participate in the life-saving exercise.
The initiative once again highlighted the collective power of partnerships in strengthening healthcare systems and saving lives.
